Kendriya Vidyalaya National Defence Academy has Started functioning w.e.f. 29.6.1963.
It is one of the 20 Regimental schools taken over by Central Schools Organization.
The nomenclature of the organization has since been modified as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body under the Dept. of Education, Ministry of HRD Govt of India.
The organization came into being as per the recommendations of the II central pay
commission to provide uniform system of education through the length and
breadth of India for the children of transferable central govt. employees.
Today there 1073 schools as on 01.09.2010 with more than 10,30,654 students.
The Kendriya vidyalayas follow NCERT prescribed text books and are affitiated to CBSE.
Kendriya vidyalaya NDA has completed 48 years of its existance .
The commandant NDA is its chairman VMC while the colonel I/C Administration is the chairman's nominee.
The Vidyalaya has the following Motto:"Compete with honor and achieve the highest possible target."
